Titus, as Caesar, 69-79. Sestertius (Orichalcum, 32 mm, 26.94 g, 7 h), Rome, 72-73. T CAESAR VESPASIAN IMP IIII PON TR POT II COS II Laureate head of Titus to right. Rev. S•C Titus on horseback to right, hurling spear at fallen enemy, who holds a sword in his right hand and raises, with his left, a rectangular shield in defence. BMC 652† = Cohen 238 corr. (PON not PONT). RIC 497. A splendid piece with a bold portrait and a beautiful green patina. About extremely fine.
